District Services:
The District offers many services to the community. Water quality testing, well siting, and educational presentations are some of the more frequent services provided. Less frequently, the District is asked to conduct flow testing or basic water well troubleshooting.
The District houses well and hydrogeologic records that date back over 100 years. Most of those records have been georeferenced and incorporated into the District’s geographic information system. This allows our staff to provide information about a site and its surroundings in a fairly quick manner to the public.
The District also tracks legislation and litigation that may impact groundwater resources in the state. We provide input to legislators regarding best practices for our local aquifers in an attempt to represent the best interests of our region. Likewise, we disseminate that information to the community to make them aware of potential changes that may impact them.

About MGCD
The District was created in 1985 by the 69th Texas Legislature (HB1148) with the local confirmation election being held in November 1986.
Board of directors
MGCD is governed by a Board of eight elected Directors. Each Director represents a Precinct as shown on the map below.
