Educational Programs

The District provides educational programs to school, civic, and agricultural producer groups. If your group desires to have a program, please contact the District. Past programs have included: Geology of Mesquite GCD, Changes in Groundwater Levels Over Time, Groundwater Contamination Causes and Effects, and Aquifer Science.

    The District normally taylors the subject matter to the audience. Common subjects that the District has been asked to discuss include groundwater conservation, water level trends, potential Rule changes, rainfall trends, well construction, and local geology.

    About MGCD

    The District was created in 1985 by the 69th Texas Legislature (HB1148) with the local confirmation election being held in November 1986.

    Board of directors

    MGCD is governed by a Board of eight elected Directors. Each Director represents a Precinct as shown on the map below.

    District Rules

    The District’s Rules are a formal document that describes the legal tools used by the District to achieve the objectives within the Management Plan.

    District Services

    MGCD offers many services to the community. Water quality testing, well siting, and educational presentations are some of the frequent services provided.
